Gigabyte P67A-UD3P-B3 and

Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3

What are the differences and does it worth the money difference? (50$ at my local store)

Gigabyte has a compare tool but it's not very clear....

That being said the more expensive one would be more like a media centre PC. It has 6 audio jacks instead of 3 for surround sound & a coax out connector. It also has more USB ports.

What it really comes down to is the surround sound. The cheaper one still has SPDIF (digital audio) which will do surround sound if you plug it into an amp. Without an amp you will need the more expensive motherboard if you want the surround sound.

BTW the P67A-UD3-B3 DOES support USB 3. It has 2 ports on the back. Only difference is the sound outputs & number of USB ports.

Basically there the same..the UD3P supports 2 "on board" USB 3.0 and 6 USB 2.0...the UD3 supports just 4 "on board" USB 2.0. The UD3 does have two USB 3.0 "legacy" ports but none on the "On Board" so If you insist on having USB 3.0 on the cases front panel get the UD3P if you can live with USB 3.0 on the back only..get the UD3..!!!

Compare the specifications on the 2 boards to find out the differences.

Usually it is in the speed and/or graphics, and possibly the amount of memory they can use.

For a average user you should just get the cheaper one

GA-P67A-UD3-B3 does NOT support USB 3.0

I'm a tech freak with spare money, so I would go for the USB 3.0. A normal user will never notice the difference.
